A resource for those working to combat homophobia and transphobia in sport, schools & public services
STOP PRESS: Bournemouth University Sports Faculty 'Homophobia in Sport - What's the Score?' ground-breaking ‘snap shot’ of the state of the nation report into still rampant and ineffectively challenged homophobia in sports and schools contexts will be publicly released on the ‘Time for Change – Now!’ website on 15th April – so please bookmark this page!
Welcome to the Olympics legacy anti-homophobia exhibition project website
The graphic design and PDF material on this website is provided to encourage discussion about the sources of LGBT [Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual & Trans] communities discrimination and bullying issues, and related inclusivity needs in workplace, sports, educational and broader social settings. Inclusiveness demonstrates contentment and self-possession – but prejudice proves a wont of both.
The project has been created and supported by a broad coalition of
individuals and groups with the shared aim of
seeking positive change in terms of identifying, challenging
& overcoming homophobia and transphobia, and seeing the growth of
more welcoming and appropriate workplace, sports and teaching
environments for LGBT people and especially showing solidarity with
young victims of homophobia.
“SUBU is delighted to be involved in a project that delivers such an important message of equality at a time when the world is celebrating sport and embracing inclusivity.”
Toby Horner: Bournemouth University Students' Union [SUBU] President 2010 - 2012
|'Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole LINks have funded community outreach support for aspects of the projects development (assistance with touring of the panels, supportive talks, surveying, etc) in the September 2012 - April 2013 period.
